Today Flickr kicked off its major redesign across its mobile, web, and desktop platforms. The site has a new clean new design and a new app called “Uploadr” for Windows and Mac, which finds photos on your computer and pushes them to a private photo album.
Flickr's biggest change is the Camera Roll, which you’ll be able to see on the web. This view allows you to sort through your photos either by date uploaded or date taken. There’s also a new Magic View in the Camera Roll, It's kind of a visual search engine which uses image recognition tech to sort your photos into categories like “landscape: snow” and “animals.”
All of this plus a free terabyte of photo storage makes Flickr 4.0 a great option for backing up your photos online.
